COMPETITION
to participate in specialized training in Ethics and Compliance
Training information
Business Ethics and Compliance training is organized in response to public and private sector needs:
- To ensure that all employees work and behave in accordance with the organization’s defined rules and ethical standards,
- To protect the reputation of the organization,
- To comply with the increasing number of internal and external regulations,
- To improve their business.
The training is conducted through a series of specialized modules and lectures with practical work. The goal of the education is to train private and public sector organizations employees for the position of Ethics Officer / Integrity Manager / Compliance Officer, covering the following areas:
1) International best practices in ethics and compliance
2) Tone at the top, Tone at the middle – a commitment from management and middle management to ethics and compliance
3) Business Compliance Officer – job description, role in the organization
4) Compliance risk assessment, measures, and action plans
5) Code of Ethics and other integrity procedures and policies
6) Educate employees and management in ethics and compliance
7) Monitoring the implementation and reviewing the effectiveness of the measures
8) Irregularity detection – reporting procedures, reporting channels, and internal investigation
9) Corrective and disciplinary measures
Total duration of training: 14 days (5 modules to be implemented in the period October-December 2019)
The indicative timing of the module is as follows:
Module I – 16-18.10.2019.
Module II – 28-30.10.2019.
Module III – 13-15.11.2019
Module IV – 27-28.11.2019.
Module V – 11-13.12.2019.
Location: Sarajevo
The lecturers are experienced experts in business ethics and compliance, international university professors, successful businessmen and executives who protect their business with business ethics and compliance systems.
Certificate
The training is certified and for each completed educational module within the training, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Criteria for participation
Those interested in participating in the training must meet the following requirements:
- To be a person who cherishes high ethical standards and to be a person of integrity
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Faculty of Economics, Management, Public Administration, Law, Criminology have priority),
- Knowledge of English (it is recommended that the level of English be sufficient to independently study additional teaching materials, which are in English, regardless of the basic training at BHS)
- To be employed in public or private sector organization in anti-corruption business areas (appointed as Integrity Managers, FUK Coordinators, Anti-Corruption Coordination Contact Points, Compliance Officer, Irregularity Commissioners, Ethics Commissioners, etc.). Have a minimum of 3 years work experience,
- Being able to work under pressure and deal with stress well,
- Be stable and resistant to environmental pressure,
- Have organizational skills,
- Not to be punished or prosecuted,
- Being a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

If you wish to apply for the training, please send the completed application form to info@wefec.org with the title “Application for Ethics and Compliance Training”.
The US Embassy pays 100% of the scholarship education costs for 14 days of education. In addition, the US Embassy bears 20% of the cost of the registration fee for participants who choose to participate in the international conference, which is held 09/30/2019. in Sarajevo, hosted by the world-leading Association of Ethics and Compliance Professionals from the United States (Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics). The rest of the registration fee (80%, which, depending on the number of entries, can be $ 216 for 1-4 participants, $ 196 for 5-9 participants and $ 184 for 10 or more participants) is paid independently or by their organization. All conference applications will be made by the Ethics and Compliance Forum. Any travel and accommodation costs will be paid by the trainees themselves or their organizations.

The West-East Forum for Ethics and Compliance (WEFEC) is a Bosnia and Herzegovina Association for the Development of Ethics and Compliance whose main goal is to increase the level of accountability and integrity in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s public and private sector. Through the implementation of best practices in ethics and compliance, we support the process of eradicating a culture of corruption and other negative business practices that undermine economic growth, rule of law, and halt domestic and foreign investment in the country.
