The fourth module of specialized training in ethics and compliance has been completed, involving over 30 representatives of the public and private sector from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training is organized as part of the project “Combating Corruption with a New Generation of Ethics and Compliance Experts” supported by the US Embassy in BiH.

This module broadened and grounded students’ knowledge of how to properly detect investigate and take appropriate corrective action as an adequate response to misaligned, unethical behavior. The students have acquired knowledge and skills that they will be able to put into practice.

This module was the most motivational, full of tears and laughter.

Aleksandar Jevtic, CIA, CFE, OIR spoke about how internal investigations are planned and implemented and what their purpose is. Inspector General Brigadier General of the Ministry of Defense of BiH Mirsad Ahmic and Inspector Colonel Slobodan Radovanovic presented the activities of the Inspectorate General on spreading the culture of ethics and integrity in the MoD BiH.

By far, the most dynamic part of this module’s lecture was a workshop led by Mila Crnogorac Bajic, where participants, through a real-world example, could, in groups, test their resourcefulness in the role of management, investigator, defendant or witness.

The most motivating part of the lecture was certainly the lecture on Višnja Marilović’s personal experience as a whistleblower. Through this authentic story, participants were able to find out what it means to report irregularities in practice and what are the reasons and motives for the whistleblower.
