The third module of specialized training in ethics and
compliance involving over 30 public and private sector representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training is organized as part of the project “Combating Corruption with a New Generation of Ethics and Compliance Experts” supported by the US Embassy in BiH.
The lectures talked about how to design a code of ethics, policies and procedures so that the values and standards of an organization’s business are communicated clearly and accurately throughout the organization. This module is especially important since successful communication and ultimately the acceptance and adoption of desired values by the organization’s employees is one of the most demanding tasks for management and for those in charge of ethics and compliance in the organization.
The first day of the lecture is dedicated to anti-corruption policy, conflict of interest, method of adopting and managing compliance procedures.
On the second day of the lecture, guest lecturer Professor David Freel, who teaches at Ohio State University, spoke about ethics and compliance, ethical decision-making, and law-based compliance versus ethical compliance.
The third day of the lecture is dedicated to human resource management in terms of integrity and employee education. Guest lecturer Amela Hadzihasanovic talked with the participants on the topic of ethical dilemmas that we encounter in our daily work and how to successfully respond to them.
